Watch the recording from this years ABARES Conference, where Jo joined a panel discussing the potential outcomes for regional communities of the plan for Australian agriculture to reach a $100b target.
"Achieving the $100 billion target would fundamentally alter Australian agriculture. Farms will likely get much larger, the number of farmers will probably decline, and whole industries may shift or disappear while others emerge and grow. Some of these changes run counter to broader aspirations for regional Australia such as maintaining population levels and access to essential services. Achieving these goals also requires smart adaptation to broader trends in demographics, labour markets and new technologies." - ABARES Session Preview
